Project Details
Description
This Visiting Professorship will build capacity to use research and teaching to define and develop media roles in
conflict capable of fostering peace, justice and sustainable development. Professor Lynch will share his
groundbreaking work on media interventions for peace in situations of conflict, with particular reference to
Peace Journalism, as an organizing principle for journalist education, and for analysing news content. As media
are implicated in emerging dynamics of conflict, Peace Journalism shows backgrounds and contexts, hears
from all sides and explores hidden agendas.
The VP will connect the interests of two groups of researchers at Coventry University: at the Centre for Trust,
Peace and Social Relations, (CTPSR) and in Journalism.
