Description

The project explored: a) how tourism plays a major role in the lives of local communities in the Andaman Islands; b) the future of tourism in the islands; and c) the potential for introducing appropriate community-based tourism and ecotourism models with active participation of local communities. Viewpoints of the low-income groups who live in and around Wandoor in the South Andaman Island were explored.
