Redevelopment of guides to planting without invasive non-native species

    Description

    The project reviewed a previous list of species recommended to gardeners for planting to avoid invasive ornamental plants. Plants were removed from this list if they were found to be widely naturalised or invasive with negative impacts in Britain or elsewhere and replacement plants were suggested for inclusion in the updated list.

    Key findings

    The resulting booklet 'Gardening without harmful invasive plants - A guide to plants you can use in place of invasive non-native species' is available for download below.
    Furthermore, similar guides were updated and produced for pond and aquarium plants and plants for landscaping, also available to download below.
