Key findings
During the Age of Austerity the Church has become a key player in responding to growing levels of poverty in the UK. Four broad approaches characterise Christian engagement with poverty - caring, campaigning and advocacy, community building and social enterprise. Life on the Breadline is the first project by academic theologians to study the response of the Church in the UK to austerity and growing levels of poverty.
