Description
The project started with a review of ducted fan UAV concepts and designs and led to the electrical and avionics design for a small ducted fan UAV. After project completion, this was later followed by numerical simulation of ducted fan UAV dynamics and a CFD/wind tunnel investigation of a scaled down UAV concept.

Key findings
Transitioning between horizontal and vertical flight was found to be the main control challenge.
