Examining the reciprocal and bi-directional perceptions and experiences of rugby union referees and parents

The research is concerned with investigating the factors behind the relationship between sports officials and parents. This research aims to establish perceptions of each other, factors that influence these perceptions, and the consequences of these perceptions on the interactions and relationships between sports officials and parents. The project aims to understand the impact of the relationships, how this manifests itself in the sporting environment and how we might improve these relationships. The project is supported by the English Rugby Football Union (RFU).
