Project Details

Description

This project used emerging technology to allow aspirant music producers in the UK to use high quality classical recordings made in South Africa to develop their expertise in mixing and their knowledge of recording classical music.

Key findings

The project demonstrated that learners in one locale can, in reflection of real-world practice, develop skills and knowledge through technology-mediated co-production with a practitioner in a different locale. As such, differences in approach, culture and terminology serve as experiential learning experiences which are impossible to achieve by more traditional means.
