Description

The project field-trip explored sustainable management solutions to tourism development in appropriate locations of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands expanding on earlier research. The project identified appropriate sustainable development approaches and tested the local sustainability indicators designed for the Andaman and Nicobar by a) conducting interviews with key informants and questionnaires with the residents, tourists, tourism firms in order to measure the indicators and explore the possibilities for monitoring work, and b) identifying the areas of co-operation between tourism stakeholders and government departments of the Andaman and Nicobar for sustainable tourism development.
