Description
Research Excellence Development Fund
The project investigates strategies for integrating autonomous vehicles in a mixed-fleet logistics operation. The project focused on last-mile delivery and the policy needed to commercialise autonomous technology. This is concerning the UK’s Skyway vision where 165 miles of ‘drone superhighway’ is being developed. The project engaged with stakeholders and policymakers to create a UK roadmap that outlines a set of strategic recommendations. The project recruited interns to develop a visualisation map. The outcome was a series of recommendations on implementing disruptive technologies into the commercial landscape delivered in a workshop for Connected Places Catapult. The findings also developed a logistics game featuring AVs with Business on the Move.
