Delivering Improved Pedestrian Post Crash Triage

    Prize: National/international honour

    Description

Improvements to pedestrians triage can in motor vehicle collisions help to maximise their chance of survival and rehabilitation. In-situ triage methods would benefit from a pedestrian trauma database, which could inform the paramedics, in seconds, about the victim state of trauma per organ. This project provides the first building block of this knowledge database, by creating a unique mathematical computer model, which can, for the first time, evaluate soft tissue injuries and location within a human in blunt trauma impact.
