My background is in forestry and environmental sciences. I have over a decade of research and development experience within the sub-fields in these disciplines, including the governance of environmental systems like forestry and biodiversity conservation, watershed soil and water conservation, Ecosystem-based-Disaster Risk Reduction, wetland restoration and Ecosystem services valuation.  I am currently working on a project on the governance of tree planting schemes in Africa with cases from Ethiopia, Ghana, South Africa and Tanzania. Thus, my research interest is very applied and is driven mainly by the resource information needs of community groups, practitioners and policy decision-makers in different environmental subsystems.
