Biography

Dr Yanguo Jing has a PhD in Computer Science and intelligent Systems, a MSc and a 1st class BSc (Hons) in Computer Science. He has over 20 years’ teaching, research and commercial experience, with interests in machine learning and data analytics for business. Yanguo is a Fellow of the British Computer Society, Charter IT professionals and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. He has worked with clients such as Pfizer, National Grid, and Comic Relief. He was the Managing Director of a very successful software company for over three years and was instrumental in securing the successful bid for the £40M National Institute of Coding (IoC) in the UK, which aims to address digital skills shortages in the industry and to create a pipeline of talents of appropriate digital skills from diverse backgrounds.

Research:

His recent research work focuses on the use of statistical and machine-learning methods to capture interaction and user behaviour patterns that can be used to develop intelligent applications. This research has been applied in applications such as business analytics, sports analytics, and user behaviour prediction on social networks.
