    Having completed his BA (Hons) in Human Resource Management, Tom joined Coventry University in 2006 as a Research Assistant within the enterprise and entrepreneurship centre alongside his many business interests. Since then he became heavily engaged in teaching and learning serving for 6 years as the Course Director of the highly innovative BA Enterprise and Entrepreneurship degree.

    From 2013 – 14, he was the Chair of Enterprise Educators UK, a group representing Enterprise Educators throughout the HE and FE sector within the UK. As a director of EEUK, Tom supported the development of Enterprise and Entrepreneurship education, whilst distilling and sharing best practice and knowledge transfer across the sector. Tom holds a Fellowship of EEUK, Fellowship of the RSA and Senior Fellowship of the HEA. 

    Following a 3 ½ year role as Associate Head (Student Experience) in the School of Strategy and Leadership, Tom joined the School of Economics, Finance and Accounting as Head of School in May 2018.



    Tom’s research interests cover Business Stuart-Up, Regional Development, Business Support Policy, Student Entrepreneurship, Entrepreneurship Education and Web Technologies for Businesses. He completed his PhD in 2015 entitled, “To what extent can universities create a sustainable system to support MSMEs? A focus on the West Midlands region” at Coventry University.
