    Biography

I am a research scientist with a focus on applied physiology. Prior to working at Coventry I worked at the University of Worcester where I taught on a range of modules focussing on exercise physiology and acting as the course leader for the MSc in Applied Sports Science. Before working in academia I worked as a physiologist, applied sports scientist and strength and conditioning coach. These experiences include working with elite athletes in professional sports and with Olympic athletes.

I am currently leading several projects investigating novel strategies to improve health and performance using heat therapy as a complement to exercise. My work generally seeks to gain an understanding of the physiological mechanisms which underpin any observed phenomena using laboratory studies but I also collaborate on several projects within professional sport and elite sport doing field based research. I have previously consulted on applied research projects and I am keen to further opportunities for research collaborations within academia and with industrial partners.
