    Biography

Dr Thais Tasso Guaraldo is a Research Fellow in the Centre for Manufacturing and Materials at Coventry University. She joined the Research Centre for Manufacturing and Materials (CMM) in Coventry University in 2023. Previously, she worked as a PDRA in the University of Bath (UK) on Photocatalytic Foams for Micropollutants removal. Thais obtained her PhD in Materials Science and Chemistry from Sao Paulo State University (Brazil) in 2014, holding a placement in collaboration with Durham University (UK). She obtained her BSc and MSc both in Chemistry and Materials Science in 2007 and 2010, respectively. Her main research interests and areas of expertise are in Catalytic Materials for Photocatalytic, Photoelectrocatalytic and Electrocatalytic applications. She developed Nanomaterials for Water Treatment, Hydrogen Generation and Electrochemical Sensors, mainly using electrochemical methods, substrate-free and templated approaches. As an early career researcher, Thais has published several peer-reviewed journal papers and presented at prestigious international conferences. She was awarded best poster prize on the Brazilian Symposium of Electrochemistry and Electroanalysis (Sibee 2017) for her work on carbon black electrochemical sensor. Her co-supervision work on Molecular Foams was also awarded best poster presentation in RSC Materials Chemistry Division Symposium 2021.
