His research interests sit at the nexus of strategy and innovation with a particular focus on microfoundations research. He applies insights from behavioural sciences in strategy practice research to explore the sources of firm heterogeneity, sustainable competitive advantage and superior performance by unpacking the micro-aspects of firm capabilities, dynamic capabilities and routines to shape emerging debates within strategic management theory. His expertise covers both qualitative and quantitative research methods and tools used over several years of research at global organizations.
Further research investigates emerging and disruptive technologies and organizational capability needs for a sustainable future by organizing for responsibility. He strives to unmask the ethical and security implications of emerging technologies in the global economy. Sustainability and Responsible Business are areas of interest.
Tega is an award-winning researcher, has received numerous awards, teaching & research recognitions including EURAM (2019) Best Paper award, EURAM (2019) Nomination (Finalist) for Most Inspirational Paper award, The Lancaster MBA Scholarship award, SHELL University Scholarship award, Nomination for University of Stirling Excellence in Teaching RATE award (2018) and Nomination for University of Stirling Excellence in Teaching RATE award (2017). He has presented his research work at leading international conferences including The European Group for Organizational Studies (EGOS) and The European Academy of Management (EURAM).
Prior to embarking on an academic career, he spent years working in nuclear engineering and cybersecurity in a business context. He holds a degree in engineering and a masters degree in information technology security as well as an MBA degree from Lancaster University Management School and a doctorate degree in strategic management obtained from Stirling Management School, Scotland. He is a Fellow of UK Higher Eduaction Academy (FHEA). His current and past teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels are on modules in:
