Personal profile

Research Interests

My research interests sit at the nexus of Strategy and Innovation with a particular focus on microfoundations research. I apply insights from behavioural sciences in strategy practice research to explore the sources of firm heterogeneity, sustainable competitive advantage and superior performance by unpacking the micro-aspects of firm capabilities and routines to shape the emerging dynamic capabilities approach in strategic management. My expertise covers both qualitative and quantitative research methods and tools used over several years of research at global organizations.

Further research explores emerging and disruptive technologies and organizational capability needs for a sustainable future by organizing for responsibility. I strive to unmask the ethical and security implications of emerging technologies in the global economy. I am keenly interested in Sustainability and Responsible Business.

I have received numerous awards and recognitions including EURAM (2019) Best Paper award, EURAM (2019) Nomination for Most Inspirational Paper award, The Lancaster MBA Scholarship award, SHELL University Scholarship award, Nomination for University of Stirling Excellence in Teaching RATE award (2018) and Nomination for University of Stirling Excellence in Teaching RATE award (2017). I have presented my research work at leading international conferences including The European Group for Organizational Studies (EGOS) and The European Academy of Management (EURAM).

Prior to embarking on an academic career, I spent years working in nuclear engineering and cybersecurity in a business context. I hold a degree in engineering and a masters degree in information technology security as well as an MBA degree and a doctorate degree in strategic management. I am a Fellow of the UK Higher Eduaction Academy (FHEA). My current and past teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels are on modules in:

International Logistics

Outside academia, I enjoy cycling, hillwalking and exploring the Scottish highlands.
