    Biography

    Research Assistant at the GLEA Research Centre, Coventry University, and a team-member of the equity & attainment theme. Specific research interests include “Creating inclusive teaching spaces” and “Facilitating notions of flourishing and thriving”. Passionate about promoting the use of new media technologies and the development of accessible digital literacy. Developed the Academic Inclusive Publishing Project. A grant funded development of an idea concerned with facilitating undergraduates to explore the notion of a Research Active Learner. Former career, as a sports technology entrepreneur and CEO developed experience of managing and leading small and medium size enterprises. With an early-career in sport science teaching and mid-career commercial experience, up to 2012, have since gained a wealth of higher education teaching experience in a variety of subject areas; people management & leadership, strategic management and global marketing applied to various employment sectors; tourism, hospitality, events and sports management. During this time have developed as a higher education teacher, by exploring innovative approaches to visible learning, interactive virtual learning environments and extending learning through coursework assessment. Additionally have gained insights into higher education department management as a member of a Senior Management Team; as well as through external appointments as examiner and subject adviser. A fellow of the Royal Society for the Arts.
