Biography
Accounting and real estate lecturer, associate director UG Accountancy & International mobility lead. Simon’s research is multidisciplinary with focus sustainable land uses and real estate development. Simon has delivered around fifty business modules in seven universities (KFUPM, SU, UQ, RAU, SDAU, UCEM and CU). He has also taught in two FE colleges (HCT, CC) & a dozen schools. Simon first served as military medic, graduated from LSE, audited for Deloitte, studied Environmental Management at Durham and worked as a commercial analyst and foreign investment advisor for Queensland Government. In 2010, the University of Queensland awarded him his doctorate in real estate. Simon is a qualified accountant (ACMA, GCMA & CPA) and is a certified teacher (PGCE, FHEA). He speaks French (DEFL B1) and dabbles in Ancient Greek.
Research Interests
Integrated financal and spatial analysis. Multidisciplinary research on sustainable transformation, spanning strategy, accountancy, urban development & learning. Simon has published over twenty journal articles, seven book chapters and three books. He is an active peer reviewer, including for Property Management (Editorial Board), Land, Land Use Policy, Sustainability, Sustainable Cities & Society.
