Simon is a qualified accountant who has taught across the education spectrum here and overseas. After serving as a military medic, Simon read Economics at LSE and then worked for Deloitte in Newcastle. Later, he qualified as a business teacher and worked in Africa and the Middle East. He then studied for an MSc in Environmental Management at Durham. He researched and lectured at the University of Queensland, where he completed a doctorate in Geographical Science (Real Estate). In Australia, Simon also worked as a commercial analyst for several years, evaluating infrastructure projects and foreign investments. In 2013, he returned to UK and lectured Real Estate, Economics, Accountancy and Finance at the Royal Agriculatural University. Simon also designed and taught Project Management at Shandong University and the Reseach Project at the University College of Estates Management.
Simon's current research is inter-disciplinary and involves multi-criteria assessment of institutions, projects, built environments and learning. He is interested in military history and speaks fluent French.
