Shruti is a PhD student in the field of Computer Vision research. She is currently pursuing her doctoral studies at Coventry University in a GCRF-funded project for Crop Modelling. She is part of the Centre for Computational Science and Mathematical Modelling (CSM) at Coventry University.
She received her Masters in Data Science and Computational intelligence from Coventry University in 2020. Additionally, she also holds a Master in Computer Application from Mumbai University, India.
Shruti's research interest lies in applying and developing new Machine learning and deep learning models for Environmental problems. Currently, in her PhD, she is working on leveraging Deep learning strategies to improve the crop yield using Remote sensing data.
She is further interested in leveraging Computer vision strategies for different problem areas and developing solutions
Shruti's PhD project aims to model cultivation based on various environmental factors extracted from remotely sensed data or real-world measurements. This is a multidimensional challenge and cross-disciplinary research. Such a modelling strategy's results will give valuable insights into climate-adapted cultivation. The results of this study can inform the agricultural adaptation policies made by governments, digital agriculture businesses and other stack holders. The benefits on a larger scale will be resilience and improved sustainable societies.
