Dr. Shohel Amin is a Lecturer in Highways and Transportation in the School of Energy, Construction and Environment at Coventry University, the United Kingdom. He is also a Research Associate in the Centre for the Built and Natural Environment at the same university. Dr. Amin is the university faculty, researcher and consultant in highways design, transportation planning, traffic engineering and urban planning. Dr. Amin has an international track record of twelve years on optimization of public infrastructure budget, traffic simulation and demand modelling, resilient communities and road infrastructure, sustainable development of communities and urban governance. He has published over forty research papers in journals, books and conference proceedings and his research is recognized by several awards and prizes. He has advised public sector agencies and consulting firms on multiple transportation and other infrastructure projects. Dr. Amin is the Chartered Member of the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (CIHT) in the United Kingdom and the Coventry University representative at the West Midlands Regional Committee of CIHT. Dr. Amin is affiliated with various professional organizations and has demonstrated leadership and management skills in professional and volunteer organizations and activities.
