Biography
Shahida graduated from the University of Sindh in 2009 with a 5-year professional degree as Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm-D) and has been awarded with a Vice chancellor’s Gold and silver medal. As part of the degree programme, she carried out two placements at Novartis pharmaceuticals. She then went on obtaining a MSc in Pharmacology from the University of Bedfordshire. She then obtained her PhD from the University of Bristol in Dr. Elek Molnar and Dr. David Jane’s lab in 2017 with a thesis entitled “Pharmacological Characterisation of novel kainate receptor antagonists and photoaffinity probes". Shahida joined the Hers lab in 2017 as EPSRC-funded postdoctoral researcher and continued research and teaching in drug discovery and pharmacology in particularly on prostacyclins.
