    Personal profile

    Research Interests

As a researcher in the field of vehicle dynamics and mechatronics, I am always keen on solving engineering problems with an innovative approach. My research interests are in dynamics and control engineering focusing on automotive and railway application.

Dr Saikat Dutta is a lecturer in Vehicle Dynamics at the School of Mechanical, Aerospace and Automotive Engineering, Coventry University. He is a researcher in the field of vehicle dynamics and mechatronics interested in working on application-oriented engineering problems in Transport engineering. Prior to joining Coventry University, Saikat was a lecturer in University of London. Before that, he worked as research fellow at two universities in the UK, University of Birmingham and Loughborough University. His research was focused on developing novel railway track switches, in collaborative projects, namely REPOINT, In2Rail, In2Track2, S-Code, funded by RSSB, Shift2Rail. Prior to his move to  UK, Saikat has worked as postdoctoral fellow at Inha University, South Korea, working on developing adaptive controllers for smart automotive suspension and steering systems. Saikat's PhD was on studying vibration characteristics of a nonlinear vibration isolator with Magneto-rheological (MR) damper.
