Personal profile
PhD Project
What do ten-inch platform stiletto heels do to and for movement ideologies? Is there clarity in heightened stance? How can heels reify fragmentation and productive ruptures for the queer performing archetype? How can the kinky and fetishised aesthetics of heels be subdued? How can heels bring about an anti-camp methodology that seeks to uphold confessional practices? What is there to confess through body language and heels practice alone? Can unspoken confessions be substantiated? What does this do to and for movement alterity? How do heels offer alternative dance/movement techniques? How do killer heels reify strength and anarchy and evoke a deep sense of body-based confessional? What is left to confess? How do heels assist in unearthing political strongholds and newness in movement culture?
