    Research Interests

    My research sits at the intersection of connected & autonomous vehicles (CAVs), AI, and cyber-physical safety and security assurance. I have 9+ years in CAV research across academia and industry—five years at Jaguar Land Rover (ADAS) leading industrial research in assisted/automated driving, and since 2020 at Coventry University advancing CAV safety/security assurance, teleoperation, V&V and control. I lead an EPSRC/AISI Systemic AI Safety project on Risk Assessment of Using AI-Generated Synthetic Data in Training and Testing of Autonomous Vehicles (PI, £250k, Feb 2025–Feb 2026), translating generative-AI advances into auditable, safety-case-ready evidence for CAVs. I am Co-I on Innovate UK “Certus” (simulation-driven V&V), and previously held a Royal Society Short Industrial Fellowship working on CAV motion control with StreetDrone Ltd—evidence of research that moves decisively from theory to deployed systems. I currently lead a growing CAV safety research stream with 1 PDRA and 5 PhD projects
