Biography
Peter is currently an Assistant Professor in Adult Nursing, Diabetes and Research (0.8FTE) at Coventry University leading on the Masters Disssertation Modules comprising of four courses and Senior Clinical Research Fellow (0.2 FTE) at the University Hospital Coventry & Warwickshire (UHCW) NHS Trust. Prior to these roles, Peter worked as a Clinical Recruitment Network Facilitator/Research Fellow on two multi-centre trials [Prevention of Fall Injury Trial (Pre-FIT) and Dementia and Physical Activity Trial (DAPA)], under Professor Sallie Lamb, Warwick Clinical Trials Unit, Warwick Medical School (WMS) [Sep 2013 – Oct 2016], after completing his PhD thesis on ‘Delivering Diabetes Care to Ethnic Diversity (DEDICATED) at WMS. This 3 - year NHS West Midlands funded PhD research fellowship (2010 - 2013), used mixed-methods (systematic reviews, surveys, participant observations, thematic analysis, Participatory Action Research (PAR) and interviews) to explore and engage patients, MDT healthcare professionals (HCPs), and clinical commissioning group leaders on partnership working at all levels to develop and implement appropriate services for ethnic minority people with diabetes.
Peter is a highly experienced, motivated healthcare professional and lifelong learner with excellent interpersonal and a broad range of skills gained in the NHS and academia. He has over a decade years of research and teaching experiene and has worked in the NHS since 1998 in various roles and has proven track records in his assigned responsibilities.
