Research activity per year
Dr. Sitarenios holds a PhD in Civil - Geotechnical Engineering (2016) and a M.Sc. in Tunnelling – Geotechnical Engineering (2005) from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). He also holds a 5-year Diploma Degree (M.Eng.) in Civil Engineering (2003) from the University of Patras, Greece.
He is currently a lecturer in Civil Engineering Geotechnics at Coventry University. He has served as a Research Associate at the University of Rome Tor Vergata (2017-2018) and at the Geotechnical Department of the School of Civil Engineering at NTUA (2016-2017). He has been a Research Assistant – Doctoral Researcher in the same school (2011 to 2016) and an Adjunct Lecturer at the Department of Civil Engineering Educators of ASPETE (Athens, Greece, 2014 -2015). Before joining academia, he has also worked as a Geotechnical Engineer in Greece (2006 - 2011).
He has participated in various research programs including a large collaborative program ("NeTTUN") within the ERC 7th Framework Programme. His research output includes more than 10 papers in international journals and conference proceedings, while his main research interests are Unsaturated Soil Mechanics, Constitutive Modelling of Soils and Tunnelling.
