The future promises increased systems automation, remote control, secure interconnectivity, autonomous systems, artificial intelligence, all aided by robust telecommunication platforms. Following this trend, my research interest includes the following: Cyber Security, Automotive Security, Industrial IoT, Automation, Autonomous Systems, Systems Engineering, Modelling, Cyber Physical Systems (CPS) Safety and Security.
My current PhD research is in automotive cyber security with the aim of “Developing a methodology/framework for generating automotive security requirement specifications or models”.
Oluwole Sowunmi holds bachelors (B-Eng.) and masters (M-Eng), degrees in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering. He also holds an MSc Degree in Cyber Security.
Since 2006, functioning as a project manager he was responsible for network and security service delivery within UK/EU telecoms service provider industry, as a private consultant. He combines several technical and administrative IT professional certifications. A seasoned Project, Programme, and Risk Management Practitioner.
He is particularly interested in IoT and Industrial 4.0, which combines the two skill sets of automation and telecommunications. With over 10 years’ oil and gas industry (Chevron and ExxonMobil) experience in electrical, instrumentation and controls, using programmable logic control - PLC, supervisory control and data acquisition - SCADA, and distributed control systems – DCS, before telecommunications industry experience.
