Research Interests

I was born in Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan. I completed her Bachelor’s degree in English Education at Lambung Mangkurat University in 2003 and furthered my academic journey by obtaining a Master’s degree in Linguistics from Radboud University Nijmegen in 2009. With over 15 years of experience as an English lecturer in the Department of Civil Engineering and Earth Sciences at Banjarmasin State Polytechnic, I have developed a profound understanding of language instruction within technical contexts.

Currently, I am  pursuing my doctoral degree at the Centre for Arts, Memory and Communities at Coventry University, United Kingdom. This program aligns with my passion for exploring the intersections of language, education, and community engagement.

Research Interests
1. Corpus Linguistics: I am intrigued by the application of corpus linguistics in understanding language patterns and their implications for teaching and learning English.

2. English Language Teaching (ELT): With a focus on innovative pedagogical practices, I aim to enhance English language instruction to better serve diverse student populations.

3. English for Specific Purposes (ESP): My work in ESP emphasizes the need for tailored language programs that meet the specific communication demands of various professional fields, particularly in engineering and technical disciplines.

4. Professional Development: I am committed to exploring avenues for the continuous professional growth of educators, particularly in higher education, to ensure they remain effective in their teaching practices.

5. Higher Education Policy: I am interested in examining policies that impact the quality of higher education, with a particular focus on language education and its role in shaping academic success.

Through my research, I aspire to contribute to the advancement of English language education in technical fields, while fostering an inclusive learning environment that addresses the linguistic needs of students. My academic journey reflects my dedication to enhancing the quality of education and supporting the professional development of educators in the community and beyond.
