Lecturer - Researcher - Course Director

    • Course Director for MSc Health Psychology at Coventry University
    • Lecturer in Psychology
    • Researcher in physical activity, exercise and health

As Course Director for the MSc Health Psychology, I have led the redesign of the course and curriculum, which was implemented in September 2023. The course has been well recieved, scoring 91% for overall satisfaction on the yearly PTES (May 2023), which has increased from 65% the previous year. The course now aligns better with the BPS accreditation framework, promotes intercultural & inclusive engagement, incorporates research-led teaching and changes to health in a post-Covid world.

As Lecturer in Psychology, I have experience of teaching on a range of courses (health psychology, sport and exercise psychology and psychology). I have experience with new module development, assessment development and creating new content for students (both synchronous and asynchronous).

As a Researcher, I have worked on a wide range of projects both in and out of academia. My main research interests include: physical activity, exercise and health - exercise prescriptions - design, implmentation and evaluation of exercise referral schemes - behaviour change - behavioural insights - health psychology. Projects I have been involved in include home-based exercise programmes, active travel, travel habits, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, maternity and home births, children's physical activity, physical activity interventions for a wide range of health conditions and a range of service evaluations.

I am a strong advocate for the dissemination and translation of scientific research to a variety of audiences.
