Biography

Dr Huda is a Lecturer at Coventry University with more than seven years of experience in robotics and control. Recently, he has broadened his research area and included robotic (self-driving) vehicles and renewable energy. Currently, he is supervising one PhD student on AI (Artificial Intelligence) for self-driving car and one PhD student on renewable energy. He has worked in Horizon-2020 Helenic-REF Project worth of €2.57M at Cranfield University. He has worked in the Innovate UK funded Gyrodrive Research Project worth of £2M at Coventry University. He was involved in developing two successful grants application: Real-time adaptive networked control of rescue robots (€300k, funded by FP7-PEOPLE-2012-IRSES) and FUSION (€3.05M, funded by Erasmus Mundus). 

Research Interests

Robotics for medical applications, capsule robots, control systems, autonomous navigation of quadrotors, self-driving cars etc.

PhD Project

  1. Artificial Intelligence for Safe and Efficient Self-Driving Vehicles (Student: Sarfraz Ahmed).
  2. Energy Management System of Renewable Energy Sources and Battery Storage for Microgrid Applications (Student: Ihechiluru Fortune Chinatu Anya)
  3. Visible Light Communication for Swarm Robots (Interested students may contact).

Master's Project

Robotic Car:

  1. Development and experimentation of a robotic (self-driving) toy car.

Capsule Robot:

  1. Design, simulation and optimisation of a miniature legged robot for in vivo medical applications.
  2. Development and experimentation of a miniature legged robot prototype for in vivo medical applications.

Quadrotor:

  1. Design, development and simulation of an autonomous navigation algorithm for a flying robot (quadrotor) in the outdoor environment.
