Nazanin Khasteganan received her undergraduate degree in Physical Education from Shahid Beheshti University in Iran in 2004, and her MSc degree in Exercise and Behavioural Medicine from University of West London in 2011. She received PhD scholarship in Behavioural Medicine from Coventry University. Her PhD was focused on meta-analysis research and examined new approaches in weight management interventions.
Currently she is a Research Associate/ Fellow (Information Scientist) within the Centre for Advances in Behavioural Science at Coventry University; working with a team on the NIHR (Health Services and Delivery Research Programme) grant to evaluate Sexual Assault Referral Centres in England and undertake a cohort study of health, wellbeing and costs for adult and children survivors of sexual assault and rape (MESARCH project), She is a member of the Violence Prevention, Resilience and Justice research group (VPRJ).
She is also working on Religious Health Interventions in Behavioural Sciences (RHIBS)‘s project which is funded by John Templeton Foundation to develop an empirically-derived classification system of religious components that are used in healthcare interventions which involves developing a prototype taxonomy.
She is an experienced data researcher with extensive knowledge of reviews, data documentation, data dictionaries and harmonization of datasets. Experienced in phenomenological and grounded theory, quantitative research, cross-sectional survey design, qualitative and mixed research methods. Performed systematic reviews and meta-analysis. Conducted analysis with SPSS, Revman software trained by the Cochrane Collaboration.
She is Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and she is lecturer in 'research methodology design and methods' module, she has also supervised masters’ students on the public health in nutrition, Physiotherapy and Dietetics Dissertation and Forensic Psychology.
