    Biography

    Mr. Narinder Bains, started his career with 12 years at Rohm and Haas Electronic Materials Ltd’s European headquarters in Coventry UK as a senior research and development scientist, where he had responsibility for environmental R and D activities. A chemist by training with a BSc honours degree in Applied Chemistry; Narinder has 12 years experience in the electronics industry. Narinder also spent 3 years as a business development manager at the University of Birmingham, college of engineering and physical sciences and Innovation Manager at the National Industrial Symbiosis Programme (NISP East Midlands). More recently Narinder worked as technical director for a UK based AD renewable energy technology provider and waste management company Biowayste Systems Ltd before establishing consultancy SERE-Tech Innovation Ltd. Narinder joined Coventry University Functional Materials Applied Research Group in 2013, where he is currently responsible for managing the research groups role and activities in an ECO Innovation funded project MESMOPROC and an Innovate UK funded KTP project. Narinder is a Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry and a PRINCE2 qualified project manager.

    Vision Statement

    Sustainable principles are the driving force and high value materials and chemicals are the outputs desired from high quality innovative research in i) priority areas and ii) UK important industry sectors that seek novel development in advanced materials, biomaterials, advanced manufacturing, bioeconomy and process technologies. The aim is to develop in-house capability and capacity to deliver high quality and excellent research at the Coventry University FRC.
