    Biography

I am a lecturer in Academic Writing at the Centre for Academic Writing (CAW) at Coventry University. I completed my PhD in Applied Linguistics, and my thesis research was awarded a ‘TOEFL ETS Small Grant for Doctoral Research in Second or Foreign Language Assessment’ in 2018. I have conducted research in Applied Linguistics related to the areas of Academic Writing, Curriculum Development, English-Medium Instruction (EMI), and Teacher Education. I have published in various journals and contributed book chapters to edited volumes. I am the academic lead of Writing in the Disciplines (WID) activities at CAW. My current research agenda examines the piloting of the Writing-Enriched Curriculum (WEC) Model for undergraduate courses at Coventry University. To become a part of the scholarly community, I contribute to various Q1 journals as a reviewer. I led a project called ‘The Multilingual Awareness Raising and Support Project at Tertiary Education in Turkey’. This project was funded by the US Embassy in Ankara in 2017. In 2018, I acted as a member of the conference secretariat at an academic conference held by the European Network of Academic Integrity (ENAI) in Ephesus, Turkey. I have over a decade of experience in higher education and second language contexts with culturally diverse groups.
