Personal profile

Biography

I am an Assistant Professor of Simulation (Health) at Coventry University. I work across the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health and collaborate across the University and with outside partners. I have particular interests in inter-professional simulation, online and virtual simulation and learning particularlly in preparation for placement and the healthcare workplace.

I have completed an MSc in Health and Social Care Education and a dissertation looking into the student perspective of using a simulation ward to prepare for a ward based placement. 

I have a clinical and teaching background as a Physiotherapist. I specialised in stroke services working in hyper-acute, acute, supported discharge and community. Prior to this I have worked in a broad range of clincial settings and professional football in the academy at Aston Villa Football Club.  

My research interests include the use of simulation in teaching, clinical preparation, Inter Professional Simulation and the student experience.

Master's Project

I am undertaking a MSc in Health and Social Care Education (Distance Learning) at Sheffield Hallam University. Modules include technology in teaching, simulation, learners in difficulty and research methods. My research thesis focusses around the student experience of using a simulation ward in preparation for clinical placement.
