Maria (Maro) K. Triantafyllou is a Lecturer in Logistics and Supply Chain Management at Coventry University since 2015. She holds a PhD in Green Logistics (Transportation Research Group - University of Southampton), an MSc degree in Transport Planning and the Environment (Institute for Transport Studies - University of Leeds), an MSc degree in Sustainable Waste Management (School of Civil Engineering - University of Leeds) and a 5-year Meng in Civil/Transport Engineering (School of Civil Engineering - University of Thessaly, Greece). She also holds a Postgraduate Certificate (PgCert) in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education.

Maro has 14 years of industrial and research experience. She has worked on a number of industrial transportation projects in Greece and the UK and has published a number of journal and conference papers presenting the findings of her research work on the areas of green logistics, transport and management of waste, recycling and hazardous materials, urban freight transport planning and sustainable supply chains. She is a Fellow in the UK Higher Education Academy (HEA), an Affiliate member of the UK Chartered Institute of Management (CIM), a Chartered Engineer in the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE-TCG) and a Chartered Member in the Greek Association of Civil Engineers (ACEG).

In 2009, Maro won the Best Conference Paper award in the annual Logistics Research Network (LRN) conference organised by the UK Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT). In 2010 she was member of a team that won the Best Activity (Meet the Scientist) National Aimhigher award from the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) for their work with schools and colleges in the Bournemouth and Poole area. In 2017, as a member of a Coventry University academic team she won the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) Innovation and Delivery award. Maro has acted as a reviewer in several research journals and conferences.
