Personal profile

Research Interests

My research focusses on the interface between technology and the creative industries, particularly the music sector. Much of this is grounded in my professional background prior to academia. My research is published in journals ranging from Popular Music and Society through to Thinking Skills and Creativity, and in books published by Oxford University Press and Bloombury.

I have also 'reverse engineered' my research findings into a series of global development projects using emerging technology with industry and academic partners in the US, Australia, South Africa, New Zealand and South America. This resulted in me being shortlisted for 'International Collaboration of the Year' in the 2016 Times Higher Education Awards. As part of this work, I have also been Principal Investigator on projects including those funded by the HEA.
