Lyle received his Bachelor of Arts with Honours in English at Coventry University. He received his Master of Arts in Writing at Birmingham City University and became an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in 2016 at Coventry University. Lyle is currently undertaking a PhD in Educational studies and English Literature.
Lyle is a lecturer in Creative Writing and specialises in performance poetry, article writing and music. With a background in performance poetry and music, Lyle has toured extensively performing in bands and solo, building a reputation as a 'must see' front man in the band, Ashes of Maybelle.
Interests: Performance poetry, music, art, literature, traveling, film and graphic novels.
Lyle’s main research interest is the psychological study of the creative process - this is the focus of his PhD.
Lyle’s other research interests are: Objectivism in literature, representations of free market economics in literature, social media and its impact on social interaction and social media and its impact on mental health. Lyle is also interested in the integration of social and digital media into creative writing pedagogy, and is a keen reader of economic and political literature.
Experience: Lyle has published articles on the video game industry, has been published in poetry anthologies/magazines and toured for three years as a musician.
