Biography
Lildonia is a PhD researcher in the Centre for Dance Research (C-DaRe) who work explores Caribbean Carnival, masquerade and dance as a form of resistance. Her research contributes to the development of a digital archive, using decolonial knowledge systems, archival theory and dance ethnography to examine the intersections between dance, culture and social justice.
With a profressional background as a wellbeing coach, equality and diversity consultant and a movement practitioner, Lildonia has worked across sectors to advance inclusion, equity, and anti-racism. Her academic and profressional interests centre on BIPOC wellbeing, decolonising wellbeing practice, equitable healthcare and embodied forms of resistance.
She is the author of Back Yourself: A Wellbeing Guide to Healing from Racial Trauma and the co-host of the Intersections Podcast which explores themes of identity through an intersectional lens.
