I am a Research Fellow at the Centre for Healthcare and Communities (CHC) at Coventry University. I am a Chartered Psychologist (CPsychol) with a background in health and psychology.
My current research projects include:
- Developing a website resource for people with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) on how to make the most of using smartwatches for self-management.
- Working with Professor Rosie Kneafsey and Professor Liz Lees-Deutsch on research to understand the impact of Professional Nurse Advocates (PNAs) quality improvement work on patient outcomes.
Research Interests
My research interests include chronic health conditions, respiratory disease, COPD, behaviour change, physical activity, and wearable technology.
I am interested in qualitative research and creative research methods, with experience in thematic synthesis, reflexive thematic analysis, and Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA).
PhD Project
My PhD research explored the experiences of people with COPD using activity monitors and healthcare practitioners' perspectives of their application within healthcare. This included conducting a scoping review, an interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA) study with people with COPD, and a thematic analysis study with healthcare practitioners.
