    Research Interests

Dr Kristopher Lovell is a specialist in the relationship between war and the media in twentieth century Britain with a particular interest in the political role of the wartime press (1939-1945). Kristopher's main research interests include quantitative and qualitative analyses of political reportage in the wartime press and the relationship between war and the media in Britain throughout the twentieth century.

Kristopher also launched #RecordCovid19, a research project loosely based on the pioneering work of Mass Observation. #RecordCovid19 seeks to record people’s experiences of isolation, quarantine and the pandemic more broadly. It is intended to be a collection of resources available for future generations about the experience of living through the Covid-19 outbreak.

He teaches the political and social history of twentieth century Britain, war and the media in Britain, and media theory.
