I have over five years experience of working within a higher education setting. In addition to this, I was previously an OLASS lecturer at HMP Birmingham where I taught both English and Behavioural courses to mains and vulnerable prisoners. These behavioural courses included: Equality and Diversity, Interpersonal Skills, Understanding Challenging Behaviour and Stress Awareness. My role was to challenge prisoners biases, prejudice and behaviour in the aim to support a positive change.
To further my experience, I have also aided in the delivery of victim awareness courses to low-level offenders with Victim Support. This was a court ordered course to redirect offenders away from prosecution and incarceration, with the hope of preventing reoffending.
I am currently a Lecturer in Forensic Psychology at Coventry University and the Associate Course Director (ACD) for both full-time and part-time MSc in Forensic Psychology. This is alongside being a PhD researcher.
My Research Interests include:
- Dual-harm
- Prison Education
- Violent and Sexual offenders/crimes
- Rehabilitation of offenders
- Qualitative research methods.
