Kamyar Nikzadfar is an assistant professor in Control and Autotronics at Coventry University, UK. He received his BSc degree in mechanical engineering from the Ferdowsi University of Mashhad in 2006, his MSc in automotive engineering from the Iran University of Science and Technology in 2009 and his PhD in mechanical engineering with a concentration on control systems from the K.N. Toosi University of Technology in 2015. After more than ten years of working in the automotive industry, he joined the Babol Noshirvani University of Technology in 2016 as an assistant professor of mechanical engineering in control and mechatronics, where he founded the Thermotronics research lab and also established the MSc program in Mechatronics. He was also head of the automotive engineering department and director for research affairs at IKCO Institute of Education, Research and Technology. He designed and established an MEng in automotive mechatronics and the autotronics lab. In 2020 he joined Coventry University as an assistant professor of control and Autotronics; he is currently the ML of the advanced powertrain systems and electrical science modules and the lecturer of linear control systems and real-time/embedded systems. He is the deputy course director of the JLR electrification BootCamp at CU. Due to his industrial background, he is a professional academic member of university-industry collaborations, specifically in automotive engineering. His main line of research includes control engineering and its application to automotive systems (Autotronics) as well as advanced powertrain and propulsion control systems. He has published more than 20 research papers in high-ranked scientific journals. He is also a member IFAC-Automotive technical committee and a fellow of the UK higher education academy.
