Biography
Justina Pinkeviciute is a post-doctoral research fellow at the Centre for Trust, Peace and Social Relations at Coventry University. Her research project examines the impact of business participation in peacebuilding and reconstruction efforts on social and economic rights in Colombia and Ukraine. Her research delves into power dynamics between the state, private sector, and civil society, providing insights into transitional justice processes, post-conflict recovery and development. Justina earned her PhD from Coventry University for her thesis, which explored how power affects the participation of victims in collective reparation and territorially focused development programs in Colombia.
Before joining academia, Justina worked in human rights advocacy and campaigning. She gained valuable experience working with civil society groups in post-Soviet Eurasia countries and Colombia, refining her competencies in navigating challenges in transitional societies.
Justina has also been active in the field of non-formal education with young people. She has designed and implemented non-formal educational programs, training courses, and educational materials for young people on topics such as human rights, sustainability, and sexual and reproductive health.
Justina work in Lithuanian, English, Spanish and Russian languages. She is currently learning the Ukrainian language.
