Biography

Josh Slater is programme leader for dance and senior lecturer at De Montfort University in Leicester, as well as a contemporary dance artist, theatre maker and performer. He is a part-time Ph.D. student at the Centre for Dance Research (C-DaRE) at Coventry University and assistant editor for the Intellect Choreographic Practices Journal.  He has created and toured dance and theatre works, nationally and internationally, funded by the Arts Council England.

 

Josh’s research interests are focused on choreographic practices, risk-taking, Dance Theatre, improvisation and collaborative practices. Currently, his Practice-Based Ph.D. research focuses on the practice of falling in dance and choreography.
