Personal profile

Research Interests

I'm a political/historical geographer. I completed a PhD in historical geopolitics at UCL in 2018.  I'm currently heading up a research project that maps and researches Public Rights of Way to help protect them before the 2026 Path Extinguishment.

I'm also interested in pedagogy, specifically using YouTube to teach Academic Writing. I have a YouTube channel called RE:MARKABLE, where I re-mark my old essays to help students with their work today.

I studied BA Geography at the University of Exeter and graduated with first class honours in 2013. I graduated from UCL' MSc Globalisation in 2014 and a took up a PhD in Political Geography in 2014.

I completed an 5 month ESRC fellowship as a visiting scholar at the Kluge Center in the Library of Congress in Washington, DC in March of 2016. More information about that is available here. From March 26th - June 27th 2017, I was on an  ESRC funded Overseas Institutional Visit at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver.

I won a Provost's Teaching Award from UCL and was a Student Fellow at UCL's Arena Center for Research Based Education.

I was awarded my PhD in August 2018 and moved to Coventry University as a lecturer in September of 2018, where I've been working on popular geopolitics and 'local political geography'.
