Jess Bishop is Associate Professor and Curriculum Lead for Applied Community and Social Care in the School of Psychology, Social, and Behavioural Sciences, in the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences. She has been Academic Developer in the Office for Teaching and Learning, Course Director for the PgC in Academic Practice in Higher Education at Coventry University.
Jess has over 25 years’ experience of teaching in formal and informal education settings in Primary and Secondary schools, a variety of Youth Work organisations and Higher Education. She is a Qualified Teacher (QTS), Qualified Youth Worker (JNC) and Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA) with a passion for growth and strength-based development of the individual. Jess is a Member of Chartered Management Institute (MCMI) and experienced in charity governance and leadership and management in the voluntary and statutory sector. Her current research is around youth work and spirituality; death, dying and loss; and employability resilience during austerity.
