    Research Project:

The use of Permaculture Design Principles & Action Research Cycles for the initial development and subsequent evolution of low-entropy and regenerative, integrated wastewater purification and resource production systems.

These constructed wetlandecosystems, called Wetland Ecosystem Treatment or WET Systems, purify a wide variety of wastewater types, over a range of scales, whilst producing an economic yield and providing enhanced biodiversity through the creation of wildlife habitat.

WET Systems are productive and regenerative, soil based, multi-species constructed wetlands, they were developed using Permaculture Design Principles and Directives, and have evolved through the use of Action Research Cycles; the observation of established WET Systems over time as well as the challenge of running a permaculture design practice creating these systems.
