The Early-Career Instrumental Music Pedagogue in Primary Schools: An examination of the training and preparedness required of music graduates upon entry into the profession
This study seeks to shed light and awareness of the requirements, roles, and expectations on the effective performance of large group and whole-class peripatetic teachers in primary schools with respect to instrumental tuition, according to those experienced with working in MEHs.
With this in mind, the core research questions are as follows:
• What are the necessary skills required to perform effectively within primary school music whole-class/large group instrumental/theoretical tuition, according to experienced music education hub peripatetic teachers?
• Are HEIs providing an education in this area that is commensurate with the profession?
