    Jaliyyah is an Assistant Professor in Finance and had previously served as a research and development consultant at industry level. Her research interests include finance academia and socio-economic development in Africa. In the former, her interests are: financial contagion and behavioural finance. In the latter, they include: education, women empowerment and poverty alleviation. Coming from North East Nigeria, she stays in touch with happenings at home, this has shaped her interest on socio-economic development.

    She is a Fellow of Higher Education Academy UK, Associate Member (ACSI) of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments (CISI), Member of Chatham House and, Member of the Royal African Society. She is also a Sustainable Development Advocate and a founding member of Coventry University ESD/SDGs working group.
