Research Interests

My research interests includes Rotor Systems (Wind Turbines, Gas Turbines and Rotorcrafts), Plasma Physics, Noise Harshness and Vibrations 

Vision Statement

My ambition is to become a well known professor in the field mechanical and aerospace engineering. I am inspired by a lot of lecturers during my education. I aim to create innovation in field of Mechanical Engineeering sector. I want to design efficient and effective machines that can truly contribute to the industry. My research after my PhD will be towards Gas turbine rotational dyanmics and its condition monitoring. What I hope to acheive in next 10 years is to be called as a professor and contributor in Mechanical Engineering


Imthiyas Manarikkal is an Associate Fellow of Higher Education Academy (AFHEA) in the UK. Imthiyas Manarikkal has graduated with BEng (Hons) Aerospace Technology  first class degree from Coventry University UK. He served automtoive industry in the UK for 2 years as a design engineer for R&D working as a graduate engineer. His research interests continued and decided to pursue a doctorate in Mechanical Engineering after the graduate job. 

            Currently, he is a PhD scholar in the area of diagnostics and prognostics of rotating machineries and also working as an assistant lecturer in Coventry University and as a visiting lecturer at Solihull College. His area of expertise following below.
